NHSE High Impact Influencing Programme Completed

Prospect delivered a three day High Impact Influencing programme for NHSE Senior Leaders. 16 NHSE Senior Leaders have now completed the second cohort of the programme in Leeds. The final workshop focused on negotiation, conflict and social leadership. All delegates were provided with a set of power cards - each card identifying a type of power. Delegates discussed the ways power is used or misused, and explored how empowerment and influence are exerted with integrity to achieve positive change. The Senior Leaders on the programme came from a diverse range of backgrounds - pharmacy, IT, clinical, finance and commissioning but one thing they all had in common was that their roles were ever exp

NHSE Northern Cancer Alliance Programme Pilot Launched Successfully

Donna Bradshaw and Julian Bond delivered the two pilot workshops for the programme - aimed at supporting leaders of Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) across the North of England. The Pilot Programme explored the recent cancer Research UK recommendations of how to ensure MDTs are effective. Donna and Julian brought in models of System Leadership and Team Excellence which stimulated great discussion about leading change and influencing others to support this important area of work. We also examined how personality, influencing styles and trust all impact upon the teams. We were delighted that the evaluations of both programmes scored over 95% Good and Very Good on every measure! Thanks to

GM Population Health and Commissioning Away Time - 80 People Go to Market!

Prospect have a strong track record in delivering team away days - from small teams through to whole organisations. We know it is important to be very clear on the purpose of the day, and that the event is engaging, fun and produces some valuable actions for the future. Greater Manchester’s health and care system is moving at pace as part of the devolution deal, which makes it very important to invest time with staff to explore the future and also to reflect upon previous months and capture important successes and lessons. Donna Bradshaw and Matt Worden facilitated the 80 person event - drawing upon Matt's artistic skills to bring some creativity and fun into the day. Starting off with Huma

Well North - Well Halton wins Culture of Innovation Award at North West Coast Awards

A huge congratulations to the Well Halton team, which includes an eclectic range of people from community, business, the CCG and local authority - supported by Chris Carlin and Nicola Goodwin. We are really chuffed for you! Supporting Greater Manchester Health and Justice

This is an area very close to the heart for Donna Bradshaw - her family know what it is like to lose a loved person to murder and domestic violence and how important it is that the Health and Justice system recognises how predictable and preventable some tragedies are. On the 10th March, Donna Bradshaw facilitated a Round Table event organised by Jane Pilkington, the Deputy Director of Population Health for Greater Manchester. The Health and Justice Board for Greater Manchester, co-chaired by Jon Rouse, from the Greater Manchester Partnership, and Beverley Hughes, Deputy Mayor, are developing a new Health and Justice Strategy for Greater Manchester which includes commissioning a strategic re

ILM level 5 Coaching and Mentoring

We are delighted to have been commissioned by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust to develop and deliver a coaching programme accredited to ILM level 5 Diploma. The vision is that the delegates on the programme will become qualified coaches who will form an internal coaching network to support employees across the Trust through coaching. Module 1 was completed last month to excellent evaluations and we look forward to working with a fantastic group again for module 2 which starts this week. Prospect is an ILM life time centre for Level 5 and level 7 programmes in coaching and mentoring and leadership development programmes. Should you wish to enquire about any of our accredited progr

Effective Chairing Skills

Chairing effective meetings is a real skill. Those who chair meetings often undertake this role without prior training of how to ensure the meeting is both effective and productive. Prospect have been running effective chairing skills for over 6 years to fantastic evaluations. We are often commissioned by the North West Leadership Academy as part of their development offer to members. This month we are running both 1 day and ½ day sessions, commissioned by the NWLA. What do our delegates think of our effective chairing skills? “This day has been one of the most useful workshops I have been on, it is both practical, interactive and energising. I know I will use all aspects from this day to he

Well North Leadership Offer On Its Way!

All ten Well North Pathfinders met this week at the quarterly Hub meeting - a vibrant meeting where lessons are shared and connections are fortified. Donna shared a proposal for leadership development for people from our pathfinder communities, regardless of experience, background or role - what matters is the commitment to work with each other to support long term change in the community. The proposal, which includes pathfinders coming together for a residential, workshops and working locally on shared opportunities, was well received and the next steps are to look for recruitment and dates. Many thanks to Matt Worden, Claire Haigh and Jackie Barringer as well as all the pathfinders for co-

Yorkshire and Humber Directors of Public Health Time Out

Continuing our work with Public Health colleagues, Donna is delighted to be working again with the DPHs from Yorkshire and Humber as they take time out to reflect upon the collective and individual roles of DPHs in areas such as austerity, advocacy and improvement. Prospect have worked with Public Health colleagues in Yorkshire and the Humber for many years - including leadership programmes, and transition to local government support, and it's great to be invited back and will be interesting to learn how diverse or similar people’s work is now, a few years after moving into local government.
