Prospect & GMHSCP Address Health & Well-being in Greater Manchester

As Greater Manchester residents, we really are spoiled when it comes to the amount of great work going on to support our health and wellbeing. It’s extremely important to know the impact this is having on our citizens and communities. That’s why Prospect and our partners like to ask the big questions – what is working? What isn’t working? Why? Who benefits and who doesn’t? Are there any promising green shoots? How can we best spend our money? And, what can we learn from all our work? Our CEO Donna Bradshaw spent a morning facilitating a really interesting workshop for Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, digging deep into these questions, and working out how we can continue

Prospect, NHS Transformation Unit and NHS Strategy Unit launch exciting new approach to workforce.

The Population and Place based Workforce Planning Framework was launched at the NHS Workforce Congress on March 6th. Donna Bradshaw, our CEO, shared a stage with Katy Coope from the NHSTU to present the approach, which has been in development over the last 12 months between the three partners. The approach allows the future workforce to be more efficiently planned by using a combination of engagement, analytics and place-based logic techniques. This is made up of engaging all the right people throughout the process; applying intelligence regarding the place, population and workforce to develop future scenarios; bringing in the best practice from around the world; considering community assets

Well Halton and Halton CCG Win Prestigious Partnership in Innovation Award.

We were ecstatic and proud to wake up on March 8th to hear that Well Halton were awarded the West Coast Innovation Agency award for best Partnership in Innovation. Delighted as we were, we can’t say we were surprised knowing full well how much work goes into building strong, last relationships and making a difference to the Halton community from the team. We send our congratulations to Project Manager Chris Carlin, and all the wonderful people involved who made this happen.

GMHSCP - Population Health and Commissioning Directorate OD Programme: Values, Engagement, Leadershi

One of the ways Prospect’s Donna, Matt, Jackie and Julian have liked to keep themselves busy over the past nine months is by working with the people who are making sure that we can all enjoy good health and excellent services as we get older (as citizens of Greater Manchester, we all have vested interests here!). So far, with the Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership, we have supported entire directorate away-times to co-create values, and delivered Management team workshops covering topics from system leadership, to workforce, to horizon scanning and to effective team working. The context is complex and fast-paced, which means supporting people and teams is crucial, and being

“Always be a bit kinder than you need to be”: Professor Aidan Halligan remembered at Well North Cele

Many of us at Prospect have been involved with the Well North programme as advisors and associates since it was founded in 2015. Donna Bradshaw, who has been the Leadership Advisor since the offset, was involved in very early conversations with the founder, Professor Aidan Halligan, who sadly passed away in the first year. At the end of March 2019, the first three years of the programme, funded by Public Health England and the ten Pathfinder areas, is upon us. This, however, doesn’t mean that it’s coming to an end; we always knew that Well North would be about long-term change over 10, 15 or 20 years. Executive Chair Lord Andrew Mawson has said, “We have now raised three-year-olds – they kno

“Your success is our success” – NHSTU named as the 10th ‘Best Company to Work For’.

The Prospect team we’re delighted to hear the news that our good friends, client and partner, the NHS Transformation Unit, were placed 10th in the highly competitive Sunday Times Best 100 Not-for-Profit Organisations 2019 award. NHSTU’s founders, Alex Heritage and Leila Williams, have always placed a huge emphasis on its values, culture, and people. Prospect have worked alongside them for many years, supporting their team and growth through training, organisational development and a coaching programme, and have seen first-hand the importance placed on investing in people and positively shaping the working culture. Alongside working with the TU’s people and Leadership team, Prospect are also
